Activities & Clubs

Joining activities and clubs is a great way to learn new skills, make friends, and enhance your school experience. Check out these awesome opportunities.

Student Council

The Austin High School Student Council is a democratic group of students in grades 7–12 who raise funds and share ideas with teachers and school administrators. Our student body elects the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer; a faculty adviser assists. We’re proud to be a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC). Become a student council member and join us in making a difference at our school!

Here are just a few of the activities we help plan and carry out every school year:

  • Drink fundraiser
  • Spirit weeks
  • 9-weeks assemblies
  • Thanksgiving lunch
  • Field trips—ice skating, picnics, etc.
  • Homecoming
  • Holiday parties
  • Field days
  • School grounds flower planting
  • Policy reform
  • District and state student council conferences

National Art Honor Society

Welcome to the National Art Honor Society, Austin Chapter! We’re dedicated to helping our student members reach the highest standards in visual arts and promoting visual arts education in our school and community. Our student officers include the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, all elected by our members. To become a member, you’ll need to meet certain academic and artistic achievements—specifically, you must have taken one credit of art and achieve a B average GPA. As a member, you’ll have access to exciting educational field trips, including visits to local art studios. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things we’ll create together!

Yearbook

Joining the yearbook team is an amazing opportunity to be a part of something truly special. As a member of the yearbook team, you’ll get to showcase your creativity and design skills, while capturing unforgettable memories of your school experience. From copywriting to designing page layouts to taking photos at school events, you’ll play an important role in creating a keepsake that your classmates will treasure for years to come.
