Austin Area High School

Student Council

The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.

In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.

The Austin Student Council plans 9 week assemblies, spirit weeks, pep rallies, and field days.

They also have played a vital role in voicing the student’s concerns to the Administration and School Board.

They maintain the juice machine and use the funds to promote assemblies and purchase supplies that benefit the entire student body.

The Austin Student Council is a member of PASC (Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils) and its members have attended many district and state level conferences.
